Description
Antique cast iron wall-mounted match holder, featuring charming embossed details of cottages, trees, and a bold floral motif. With its arched Gothic-style top and rustic patina, this piece would have once hung by the hearth or stove to keep matches close at hand. Both decorative and functional, it’s a wonderful piece of late 19th to early 20th century ironwork that adds old-world character to any kitchen, fireplace, or country-style interior.

Function & Use
These were hung near the kitchen stove or fireplace, where matches needed to be handy for lighting fires, oil lamps, or candles. Matches at the time were strike-anywhere, so cast iron was a practical striker surface.
Age & Origin
- Likely late 1800s to early 1900s.
- Similar rustic and floral designs are found in German, English, and American cast iron work of that period.
- The cottage motif hints at a European influence, possibly German or English.

You order is shipped from our location in Calgary Alberta, Canada. We aim to have all packages out our door within 1-3 business days.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Your order will be shipped using courier [Canada Post, UPS, Purolator,etc] however, depending on your distance from us or if border crossing is involved orders will take between 3 and 10 business days to arrive. (Saturday and Sunday are not business days for mail in Canada)
We do not currently ship or deliver large items such as furniture.

Can I return my item?
New items can be returned within 14 days of receipt for exchange or store credit. All other items including vintage and seasonal are considered final sale. Please look carefully at photos and descriptions to avoid any disappointment with regards to size or condition.
If for some reason you are not satisfied with your purchase we are happy to accept the return of any new item in the exact condition in which it was received. Please contact us to receive return address information.
The buyer remains responsible for the costs to return any item. Please package the item in the manner it was sent to you.
