A beautiful Victorian volume telling the remarkable story of Grace Darling, the young English woman celebrated for her courageous role in rescuing survivors of the Forfarshire shipwreck off the Farne Islands in 1838.

Written by Eva Hope and published by Walter Scott in 1886, this antique book features an ornate dark cloth binding with gilt detailing and a wonderful illustration of Grace at sea. Inside is a portrait of Grace Darling along with additional period illustrations.

The book bears handwritten names from previous owners, adding a lovely sense of history and provenance.

In antique condition with expected wear from age, including rubbing to the cover and spine, foxing and discolouration to some pages, and wear to the binding. Please refer to photographs for condition.

England, 1886.
