A striking and less commonly found piece from the Madeley works of PB&S (Staffordshire, England), dating to the late 19th century.

This antique jug features a finely detailed black transferware pattern—far less often seen than the traditional blue—rendered in a soft botanical design that feels both timeless and quietly refined. The form is especially lovely, with its rounded, almost bulbous body and gently narrowing neck, giving it a sculptural presence whether in use or simply displayed.

Pieces from this maker are not often encountered, particularly in this larger jug form. While smaller wares do occasionally surface, more substantial pieces like this are noticeably harder to come by, making it a special addition for those drawn to English ceramics with a bit more character.

The interior shows age-appropriate crazing and light staining, a gentle reminder of its history, while the exterior remains crisp and beautifully decorative.
