Antique English Blue & White Covered Cheese Dish – Niagara Pattern
A beautiful antique English covered cheese dish by Dudson Wilcox & Till Ltd. of Hanley, England, dating to the late Victorian or Edwardian period, circa 1890–1910.
Featuring the lovely Niagara pattern in rich cobalt blue, the scalloped serving plate is decorated with an elaborate floral border, while the domed cover features delicate trailing flowers and an ornate finial with subtle gold detailing.
Originally designed for storing and serving cheese, these covered dishes were a familiar sight on Victorian and Edwardian dining tables. Today, they make a wonderful addition to a collection of antique blue and white ceramics, equally lovely displayed on a kitchen dresser or used for serving.
