A beautiful example of early 20th-century English ironstone, this oval baking dish was crafted for everyday kitchen use, its sturdy construction and ribbed underside were designed to withstand oven heat, allowing it to move seamlessly from hearth to table.
Finished in a soft, creamy white, this piece carries the kind of gentle patina that only time can create. Fine crazing throughout and warm, age-earned staining give it depth and character, lending that quiet old-world charm we so love in well-used kitchen wares. It feels at home layered among ironstone stacks, filled with pears on a farmhouse table, or resting beside folded linen in a French-inspired kitchen.
The underside bears the impressed “Made in England,” and registered design number, dating it to the early 20th century (circa 1920s–1930s).
Dimensions: 11” L x 8.5” W x 2.5” H
Material: English ironstone
Condition: Heavy age-appropriate crazing and interior staining consistent with use; no cracks or chips noted.
A humble but timeless kitchen piece — sturdy, soulful, and beautifully imperfect.
