A simple and beautifully timeworn English ironstone soap dish by John Maddock & Sons, finished in a soft creamy glaze with gentle tea staining along the rim. Marked “Vitrified” to the underside, this piece was made for durability and everyday use, likely dating to the late 19th or early 20th century.
The shallow oval form cradles a standard bar of soap perfectly and brings a quiet, utilitarian charm to a washstand, kitchen sink, or guest bath. The patina and age toning add warmth and character without detracting from its function.
A small but soulful addition to a thoughtfully layered home.
