A beautiful antique French trumpet vase with an elegant flared silhouette, ribbed stem and substantial cast-metal construction, believed to be iron.
Likely dating to the early 20th century, this distinctive piece may have originally served as a French funerary flower vase. Its sculptural form and simple architectural detailing reflect the Art Deco style of the period.
The wonderfully weathered blue-grey finish reveals layers of age, with areas of exposed metal, worn paint and natural oxidation. These timeworn details give the vase a particularly beautiful patina.
A lovely piece displayed on its own or styled with dried branches and seasonal stems.
Origin: France
circa 1920–1940
Material: Heavy cast metal, believed to be iron
Dimensions: 7” H × 4” diameter
Condition: Antique condition with considerable surface wear, paint loss and oxidation consistent with age. The original weathered finish has been left untouched.
