A beautiful example of late-19th-century French faïence, this Narcisses dinner plate was produced by Faïencerie d’Onnaing in northern France during the Belle Époque, circa 1890–1910. The plate features a richly detailed red transfer-printed border with repeating floral bouquets and elegant scrollwork, a style that reflects the romantic, decorative sensibility of French provincial tableware of the period.
Crafted from traditional earthenware, the soft ivory ground contrasts beautifully with the warm red design, making this piece equally suited for display or gentle use. Subtle surface wear and utensil marks are present, adding to its authentic, timeworn charm without detracting from its overall beauty. The original Narcisses – Faïencerie d’Onnaing backstamp remains visible on the underside.
At 11 inches in diameter, this plate works wonderfully as a decorative wall plate, layered on open shelving, or styled into a collected tablescape alongside other antique French ceramics. A timeless piece that brings quiet elegance and old-world character to any home.
