Antique Victorian Marble-Top Washstand with Blue & White Tiles

Antique Victorian Marble-Top Washstand with Blue & White Tiles

Circa 1890–1900 | Late Victorian

A beautiful late Victorian washstand featuring a white marble top, an intricate blue-and-white tiled backsplash and richly toned woodwork.

The decorative tiles feature a lovely floral and scrolling foliage design, complemented by an upper gallery of delicately turned spindles. Three drawers with ornate brass-style drop handles provide practical storage, while turned legs, spindle detailing and castors complete this elegant antique piece.

Originally designed for the Victorian bedroom, when washstands held a pitcher and basin for daily washing, this versatile piece would be equally lovely today as an entryway console, bathroom vanity or decorative sideboard.

A wonderful example of late Victorian craftsmanship, bringing warmth, history and a touch of English country charm to the home.
