A beautifully timeworn pair of antique English ironstone bowls in a soft creamy ivory glaze.
One bowl retains its original diamond stamp reading “Made in England by W. Adams & Sons”, while the smaller is simply impressed “England” on the base — both consistent with early 20th century Staffordshire production.
Their gently flared form and subtle banded detail give them that classic English kitchen silhouette. The glaze has developed a lovely, even crazing throughout with light tea staining that adds warmth and depth — exactly the kind of patina that makes antique ironstone so desirable.
Perfect for layering in an open hutch, holding fruit or baked goods, corralling soaps in a bath, or simply stacked for that old-world pantry look.
Dimensions:
• Medium: 6” diameter x 3” high (W. Adams & Sons stamped)
• Small: 4.5” diameter x 3” high (impressed “England”)
Condition consistent with age. No major cracks or repairs noted. Beautiful surface crazing and gentle staining throughout.
Simple, useful, and quietly storied — a timeless addition to any ironstone collection.
