A beautiful French provincial dough bin, or pétrin, dating to the early 1800s. Traditionally used for mixing and proofing bread dough, this piece features a removable lid, hand-planed plank construction, gracefully curved cabriole legs, and a beautifully scalloped apron. The deep interior bears the honest wear of generations of use, while the exterior has developed a rich, warm patina that only time can create.

Today, these versatile pieces make wonderful coffee tables, blanket chests, or statement storage pieces, bringing warmth and authentic European character to any home.

Condition: Solid and structurally sound with age-related wear, shrinkage cracks, surface marks, and patina consistent with its age and use. The removable lid fits as intended.
