Pair of Early 20th Century European Books | French Literature & Opera

A lovely pairing of two early 20th-century books, chosen for their beautifully aged bindings and timeworn appearance. The set includes a French edition of Nouvelles by Alfred de Musset, published in Paris by La Renaissance du Livre, alongside Charles Annesley’s The Standard-Operaglass, a 1904 guide to 138 celebrated operas. The latter retains an early handwritten inscription dated 1912.

Both show age-related wear, including softened corners, rubbing, fading and wear to the bindings—details that make them especially lovely displayed on a bookshelf, tucked into a vignette or stacked beneath a favourite object.

Early 20th century. Sold as a pair.
