A beautiful French-language Bible dating to 1926, translated by Swiss theologian Louis Segond and containing both the Old and New Testaments. This edition reproduces the revised 1910 Segond text and was published in Paris and printed in Great Britain.

Bound in black with simple raised detailing and gilt “Sainte Bible” lettering along the spine, the book shows lovely age and wear consistent with its nearly 100-year history.

Of particular interest is the original ink stamp from the Salle Évangélique, Quartier Bridja, Bougie. Bougie, now known as Béjaïa, was a city in French Algeria, giving this particular copy an intriguing connection to a French-speaking evangelical congregation in North Africa.

A wonderful decorative antique book with genuine history and provenance, beautiful displayed on its own or layered into a collection of old books.

Circa: 1926
Language: French
Condition: Antique condition with age-related wear, markings and patina throughout.
