A charming vintage English Sandland Ware preserve jar, made by Lancaster & Sandland Ltd. of Hanley, Staffordshire for Frank Cooper Ltd., Oxford, renowned for its Oxford marmalade.

Each cream-glazed lidded jar features a colourful “Cries of London” period scene, with a coordinating illustration on the lid. Fine crazing throughout the glaze and gentle wear are consistent with age and give each piece a lovely timeworn appearance.

Dating to approximately the mid-20th century, these jars were originally produced as decorative containers for Frank Cooper preserves and marmalade and were designed to be kept and reused.

A wonderful little piece of English kitchenware for displaying amongst ironstone, old cookbooks or other vintage finds.

Sold individually. Designs vary.
