An exceptional English cabinet dating to the early 20th century, beautifully crafted in richly figured burr walnut with warm golden tones and striking movement throughout the grain.
Designed in the Queen Anne Revival style, the cabinet features an elegant shaped cornice with carved shell detail, decorative metal strap hinges, two lower drawers with drop pulls, and graceful cabriole legs. Behind the double doors, adjustable wooden shelving provides generous storage despite the cabinet’s remarkably slender profile.
The cabinet retains a wonderful original label from Marsh’s Furniture Depositories Ltd., House Furnishers, Kentish Town Road, London N.W.1, providing a lovely connection to its English origins.
At just 12 inches deep, this is an unusually versatile antique. Beautiful as a drinks cabinet, dining-room cupboard, linen cabinet or for displaying a treasured collection.
