A beautifully detailed vintage English tray featuring an ornate pierced border decorated with grape clusters, vine leaves and scrolling motifs. The centre is richly engraved with intricate foliate detailing, while areas of warm copper showing through the silvered finish add wonderful aged patina.
Stamped on the underside “Sheffield Reproduction on Copper” and numbered 1748.
A lovely decorative piece for serving, displaying candles or bottles, or simply layered into a collection of antique and vintage silverware.
Vintage | England 9” diameter Beautiful aged patina and surface wear consistent with age.
The underside is clearly stamped “Sheffield Reproduction on Copper” with the pattern/model number 1748. Despite the word reproduction, that doesn’t necessarily mean it is a recent decorative copy. This type of Sheffield ware was made to reproduce the look of earlier Georgian Sheffield plate.
